The 6th Annual Encounter of Colombian Musicians in New York (Encuentro de Músicos Colombianos en NY) was founded in 2003 by Colombian pianist, composer, and bandleader Pablo Mayor. From his original musical concept Folklore Urbano (urban folklore, as well as the name of his 12-piece orchestra) has emerged the Encounter of Colombian Musicians in NY, featuring the best of traditional and modern Colombian music under the same roof in a one-night extravaganza that has become an annual sold-out event in NYC. The night will feature a wide array of musical styles from traditional to jazz to singer/songwriter to pop/rock, all influenced by Colombian rhythms and music.
